♥ things i love thursday ~ episode one! ♥

I always love reading all of the TiLT posts that pop up all over the blogosphere, so I'm excited to finally start contributing my own!

♥ BIG things! ♥

♥ My life in movement! I might be getting a really great, high paying job with one of my friends soon. My interview is early tomorrow & I'm so, so excited.~ I've been looking for a new job for a month now. I'm currently a bartender and I absolutely adore my job and the people, but my employment ends when the girl I'm replacing comes back from maternity leave. I was applying furiously to fast food places, depanneurs, bars, receptionist postings, etc. So my surprise when I happened to take a taxi home last Saturday night and a man in the taxi recommended I apply to where he works! I was joking and talking with the people in the taxi and he said that my outgoing personality would be perfect for the job, and recommended to me the name of the place. Then, after I sent my CV to the HR department, they called me just as I was getting on a bus to have a quick phone interview. The man on the phone seemed like an awesome guy, and said he'd call me for a real interview & it's tomorrow! So nervous, but also, terribly exciting!~ :3

♥ The love of my life. My boyfriend, soulmate, matching & balancing personality, muse and the most interesting person I'll ever meet. AKA Benny. He always knows how to brighten my day and make my life my own epic love story. <3

♥ Losing weight. I've been making concious choices about food and exercise and I haven't felt this good in a long, long time! :) I'm excited to join the gym and have tons of energy to do all the crazy things I love to do! :)

Dead is the New Alive!

The ever-fabulous Emilie Autmn said it first: "Dead is the New Alive". But today, I'm not talking about the seemingly beautiful and eloquent obsession with death that humans seem to navigate towards in prose and poetry and such.

I'm talking about zombies.

That's right.

ZOMBIES.

note: not all zombies are sexy. just these ones.

Zombies are... everywhere. It seems like everywhere I turn a new video game, movie or something undead sticks it's hands out of a grave.

Now, I know that if somewhere, somehow, in some strange turn of events there happened to be a zombie apocalpyse... I wouldn't like them so much. I also probably wouldn't survive. But as it stands, the living are living and the dead are dead and life is a one way street. Dead people are not going to start eating the living any time soon.

But, I have to admit, zombie movies are my guilty pleasure. I recently finished season one of The Walking Dead (and what a season!) and am now making my way through all of my favourite zombie movies with my boyfriend.

You think the fashion industry would start to notice this trend! Gaga did, of course, and brought in Rico Genest a.k.a Zombie Boy (who is from my hometown & went to my high school!) to her video Born This Way. But still, the lack of zombies in fashion and couture is kind of surprising.

So, I decided to take it upon myself to create a few looks that are zombie-outbreak friendly! Just because the world is going to hell, doesn't mean you can't look fabulous!

Outfits to Die for!
zombie dreams.

This look will make alive people want to eat you up, too!

Pants are always better when it comes to zombies. Less acess to skin = les bites.
Turn heads without turning into a zombie!

This look is perfect for those take-action girls. Complete with (matching & fabulous) pink gun!

Also, check out this really cute Zombie Apocalypse nail tutorial by the inspiring definatalie~!

Now it's your turn! What would you wear in the case of a zombie outbreak?
Leave a link in the comments and I'll post it up here.

That's all for my little morbid-spree. I promise, less blood-filled posts are on their way!~

(but, before I go, here's my little parting gift to all of you!)

Makeup Tutorial~ | Doe Eyed Innocence look (Ideal for Glasses)

Hi kittens!

Today I bring to you a makeup tutorial! I've always been fond of big, girly eye looks, so this tutorial is going to show you how to make your eyes look bigger, more prominent, and make you look like the epitome of innocence (even when you're not! ;3)
This look is also perfect for glasses, because it plays up your eyes big time~!

(silly camera faces optional.)

So, I am a very big advocate of certain brands, but I am also a very big advocate of being able to translate looks with whatever makeup you have. For example, if I use a Buxxom Lash from Bare Esscentuals, which is a volumizing lash, you'll know you need a volumizing mascara. I highly reccomend the products I use, but I make a point on the tutorials being universal! Pharmacy or Sephora, you can still look your very best. :)

Doe-Eyed Innocence

What you'll need (What I use):
- Good, covering foundation. (Gosh X-ceptional Wear in Porcelain)
-Concealer (L'Oreal True Match Touche Magique in Rose Porcelain)
- Volumizing Black Mascara (Buxxom by Bare Escentuals)
-Black Liquid Eyeliner (Hard Candy's Walk The Line Liquid Eyeliner)
-White & Black eyeliner (Gosh's Eyeliner)
-Beige & Shimmery Blue Eyeshadow (Annabelle & L'Oreal eyeshadow)

What to do:

1. Apply your foundation. I usually apply a dab or two on my problem areas, or areas that need the most coverage. This way, I can blend out and the makeup won't look too heavy or caked on.

I really like Gosh X-ceptional Wear because it's very easy to wear, lasts all day long, and I've never had any bad experiences with it. I especially like that the pale tones are really very pale and match my skin tone well. Also, my brush, drugstore brand. I am in need of a new one soon, haha. The handle broke off this one!

2. Apply white eyeliner to the inside corner of your eye. This is really eye opening, and you can vary the wide-eyed look depending on how thick you draw your line. You can also fill in your waterline with white too, for an even brighter look. I chose to just do the outside, but I drew the white out to about halfway over my eyelid. It's okay if you make mistakes here, you'll be going over it soon. Experiment with different types of white eyeliner application!

3. Eyeshadow time. I'm using the beige as indicated in the picture, but you could also use a lighter color OR a darker color, depending on your mood/eye color. I wouldn't recommend varying too far from the color I'm using, but a play on beige, maybe a pinkish beige wouldn't be too far a stretch to use. Apply the eyeshadow liberally all over your lid.

Now, you're going to take your blue shimmer eyeshadow or pencil and you're going to fill in just the outer crease of your eye. So when you close your eye, you should be able to see the blue well, but when your eyes are open, a very subtle hint of tone will liven up your eye color. It's not the focus of the look, it's just a nice shimmer facet. Make it as shimmery as you want. I don't suggest glitter, though.

4. Now take your liquid eyeliner and apply a thick winged line. A Very good tutorial for winged liner is located right here by the very lovely Keiko Lynn. Make the line as thick as you want. Personally, I think the thicker lines suit this look, so I drew it out like this:

(You also get a good view of the blue here.)

When this is done, now comes the fun and exciting part. We are going to draw on bottom lashes with our liquid eyeliner. This is going to give us a very innocent, Twiggy-esque look. This is where the doe-like wide eyed and girlyness comes in. You're going to be very careful with the application of the liner, and it should turn out something like so (or nicer):

Now, my application looks a bit messy, but you just clean it up with a Q-Tip and you're good to go! Less is more when it comes to this, space them out and put about five or six lines on your lower lashes. You don't want too many or it'll look crowded and ruin the look! :'<

5. Take your volumizing mascara and apply two coats to the top and bottom lashes. You can use an eyelash curler is you need one, the key to perfecting this is to open your eyes as much as possible. Longer and thick lashes are key. When everything is done and applied, you're done!

The final product should now look like this:

And there you have it!

Fill in your eyebrows (if needed), apply your favorite lip gloss and voila! You can bat your eyes and get anything you want with those gorgeous lashes!

Here are some pictures with only one eye done so you can compare:

See the difference?

And here's me, full face & hair done, ready to go.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any questions, reccomendations, or comments, please feel free to leave them in the comments.

And so it begins...

Hello, blogosphere!

I have followed and read blogs for as long as I've had internet access. I've walked among the streets of the blogging world, learning and reading and laughing and loving my time here. I've always wanted to have my own place there one day and tried a few times, unsuccessfully. But this time, I think I'm on the right track. The blogosphere is something special, it's like going on a fantastic vacation: you love the place, you talk about it, you miss it when you're away, but you don't build a house there.

Well, today, this changes. Hello, fellow bloggers & blog readers of the world wide web! My name is Letitia, this is my blog, mew~ & I am moving in!~

Fashion is something I've always been passionate about. I'm an actress, singer, aspiring burlesque dancer & overall lover of beauty, so along the way I acquired a bit of knowledge about fashion, beauty, diy-ing and the entertainment industry. I am extremely excited to share what I know & my opinions with you.

As for the title, well, I love cats! They are suave, cute, classy and smart, which are all things I would like to be. So, mew~! (Also, pampered & act like kings/queens of the world! This isn't always a good thing, but are fun to indulge in once in a while.)

The purpose of this blog is to creatively get my mind out there. I will have a lot of tutorials, outfit posts, product reviews and a lot more. I will update often because I have a lot to say!

I can't wait to get going. Another post, coming your way soon!

mucho love,
letitia
